WHO RUNS THE CLUB?

The membership runs the club via a 12-member Board of Governors consisting of 3 officers, (Commodore, Vice Commodore, Secretary/Treasurer) and 9 other members. The Board is elected by and from the active club members at the annual fall banquet. Each member of the Board is elected to serve for a 3-year term. Terms over-lap to avoid a complete "turnover" each year.

WHAT KIND OF FACILITIES DOES LSC HAVE?

The LSC maintains a private, enclosed, protected harbor with sailboat storage for active members, and a beach and grassed picnic area on the east shore of Lake Freeman, Monticello, Indiana, directly adjacent to Pearson's Marina (approximately one mile north of the Oakdale Dam at the south end of the lake).

WHO BELONGS TO LSC?

The number of members varies from year to year but averages around 100 memberships which include family and individual memberships (aproximately 270 individuals). The club membership is representative of the cross-section of the Greater Lafayette Area and is open to all individuals without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin. It includes Purdue University faculty, staff and graduate students (approximately 50% of the memberships), business women and men, and professional and non-professional individuals. Members are from Lafayette, West Lafayette, Monticello, Delphi, Buck Creek, Attica, Dayton, Frankfort, Idaville, Wolcott, Wheatfield, Brookston and Battle Ground, Indiana.
