Yachting refers to the act of using boats and ships called yacht that can be used for both recreational and sports purposes. The term Yacht comes from the Dutch word ‘Jacht’ which means to hunt. They can be either manual or motorized and the act of using them is known as sailing and power-boating respectively. The main difference between the working ships and yachts is the purpose for which they are used. While yachts are mainly used for leisure purposes, working ships are used otherwise. Owning a yacht itself is a quite costly pleasure, and here we are going to list the most expensive boats in history.
History Supreme: The most awaited game is here. The most expensive yacht in the world is History Supreme. Designed by the famous luxury designer Stuart Hughes it expands over 100 feet and carries a hard to imagine price tag of $4.5 Billion. It took almost 3 years to complete the construction and the interior design of the ship. A breath-taking quantum of 100000 kg solid gold and platinum metals were used to construct the interior of the ship. Even the exterior parts like the deck, rails, anchor, and dining area have a thin gold plating over it. It is adorned with a 24-carat gold Aquavista Panoramic Wall aquarium in its master suite.
Eclipse: Eclipse is the second most expensive yacht and the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich is the proud owner of this water beast which costs about $1.5 billion. It has 24 guest cabins, two swimming pools, and hot tubs. It has inbuilt disco clubs and two helipads. It is completely secured as it is installed with intruder detection systems and a missile defense system, it also features fitted armor plating and bulletproof windows. The best of all is the anti-paparazzi shield it boastfully supports and prevents itself from being photographed.
Streets of Monaco: The Streets of Monaco comes with a hefty price tag of $1.1 billion. It is the price that makes this yacht still a dream for many of the millionaires across the globe. The yacht comes with a BBQ, a mini waterfall, a café bar with underwater views, helicopters and submarines. It has a luxury penthouse with three large floors and expands over 4500 sq. feet. It is the fourth largest yacht in the world and was described by its makers as the most complex and challenging structure ever. It also dared to knock of the Eclipse of the list once. It’s splendid interiors are designed by the French interior decorator Christophe Leoni. It is a super-impressive yacht that can travel at a speed 35mph.
Platinum Yacht: After being commissioned by Prince JefriBolkiah as early as in 1996, the ship was launched only in the year 2006. The project was jointly carried out by Blohm+Voss and Lurssen shipyards and was later acquired by Platinum Yachts for His Highness Sheik Mohammed Rashid al-Maktoum the ruler of Dubai.
